For over three decades, Sunbury River Festival has welcomed thousands of visitors to Sunbury for a weekend celebration of family fun, live entertainment, food and of course, the beautiful Susquehanna River, 2022 will be no exception!
The festival theme for 2022 is Art Comes Alive! We are looking forward to showcasing local and regional artists, and creating an exciting, educational, and participatory experience for the community and visitors to the festival.
Sunbury River Festival kicks off Friday evening and carries through Saturday night, culminating in a live music performance and fireworks…it’s fun for everyone!

What’s the address for Sunbury River Festival?
The festival takes place at Sunbury Riverfront Park. For mapping purposes, you can use the address 30 S. Front Street, Sunbury, PA 17801.
Please note that the festival takes place on BOTH sides of the River Wall. Much of the festival cannot be seen until you walk up and over the wall so be sure to walk over!
What are the festival hours?
*Festival vendors are only required to stay open until 8 PM, though many do stay open until 10PM and/or until the nightly entertainment ends.
Are you still accepting vendors?
No, the festival is full. We cannot accept any additional vendors.
Where do we park?
There is no designated parking lot for Sunbury River Festival (no lot for the park in which it takes place). Visitors may park in city lots or any open spaces on the street and walk to the festival. There are hundreds of parking spaces within a few blocks of the festival.
Do we have to put money in the parking meters during River Festival?
No! The City of Sunbury graciously waives parking enforcement of metered spaces during the festival.
Is there handicapped parking?
Because there is no designated parking lot for River Festival or the Riverfront Park, there is also no designated handicapped parking. Visitors may be dropped off at the festival entrance at Chestnut and Front Street.
Is there a shuttle?
No, there is no shuttle service.
Will there be fireworks this year?
YES, there will be a fireworks display on Saturday night. It will start as soon as it’s dark enough.
Will there be a cardboard boat regatta this year?
NO, there will be no regatta this year (we hope to bring it back in 2023).
What time does the movie start on Friday?
As soon as it’s dark enough, probably around 8:30PM.
Where/when is the car show?
The car show is on Saturday from 10-2 (people showing cars arrive earlier, these are the public hours). It is on Market Street from Front to 3rd around Cameron Park.
I’m showing my car, where do I check in?
Check in for the car show will be at 2nd and Market, between the courthouse and Weis Markets. From Front Street, turn down Chestnut Street and make a left on 2nd.
Can we park our boats at the dock during the festival?
No. The docks were not put in this year because of the dam repairs. You may however anchor in the lake and enjoy the music from your boat.

The Valley's Got Talent is back!

This talent show is modeled after America’s Got Talent – any kind of talent, however off the wall, is welcomed and encouraged! Can you throw your voice? Sing? Dance? Play your teeth (yep, we’ve had someone play a song on their teeth before!!)? Make people laugh? Swallow swords? Do magic? Contort your body? Juggle while riding a unicycle? You get the idea, all talents are welcomed!
VanGo! Museum On Wheels
VanGo! Museum on Wheels is part of the Susquehanna Art Museum. The mobile exhibition this year is called Nature in Art and it features eight pieces by artist Victoria Fuller. Her work explores the interconnectedness of nature and humans.
The VanGo! will be on site at Merle Phillips park Saturday from 12Noon to 6PM.
Clyde Peeling's Returns
You’ve let us know how much you love visiting with the Clyde Peeling’s critters so they’ll be back again this year!
You can find them Saturdy at 11AM at the Riverfront Amphitheater.
